adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Now request this dog! Chili has found a home! His story: Husky-lovers take note! Chili lives up to his name. If his heat level were measured in Scoville units, it would likely be around 100,000 😉. Chilli's story is a classic. Growing up as a gift for the kids, Chili quickly became clear to the family that they couldn't do justice to Chili. So, Chili had to go. Now, he waits with our animal rescuer Diana for his people. It's likely that Chili is a Husky mix, maybe even a purebred Husky. He has a nice medium size of 50 cm and weighs 20 kg. Huskies are very smart dogs that not only need a lot of exercise but also mental stimulation for their smart heads. Both tracking and search work are suitable here. Huskies are also good for mantra training. Huskies have a strong prey drive, so the recall must be perfect, and you must always be one step ahead mentally. As a pack animal, living with several people suits him. Generally, a well-socialized Husky is friendly and peaceful with children. He is also open to fellow animals. Chili is also very well socialized, getting along with dogs and knowing cats, but whether cats are allowed in the household or if Chili tolerates cats is questionable due to his high energy level. He knows house life and already goes well on the leash. Still, he needs some extra lessons in dog ABC. For Chili, we are looking for active people who are ready to offer him a life that challenges and nurtures him and gives him enough stimulation to then be well-behaved in the house. At 1.5 years old, he's not a baby anymore, but his puberty phase probably hasn't ended yet. A loving and consistent upbringing is needed, which offers him security, because it's only a phase and it will pass. Chili travels neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and flea-treated, together with his EU home ID. After a positive But also a foster home would be a good option for the beginning. Ready for enough sharpness in your life? Then get off the couch. Chili is looking forward to your request. Thanks, Nadine! You gave Chili his real name and thus an identity. As of: 07.07.

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt diesen Hund anfragen! Also musste Chili weg. Stand: 07.07.2025

About Chili

What life with Chili looks like

Chili is a large adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Chili, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Chili?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Chili on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Chili if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Chili already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Chili isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Chili and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
