How did she end up with us? Until now, Chilli was a homeless cat who fought for every single day and every single meal. We rescued her along with her three kittens. Character: Chilli is a distrustful, cautious cat who tends to keep her distance from humans. At the moment, although she doesn’t immediately run away, we can’t yet pet or touch her—but we’re hopeful that we’ll manage to change that. She’s still learning that human contact doesn’t have to mean danger. Her socialization process is ongoing, and it’s hard to say what kind of personality she’ll display once she feels completely safe. Right now, she’s living with other cats in the cattery and gets along well with them. What kind of home are we looking for her? We’re seeking a responsible home for Chilli where she won’t be allowed to go outside. Balconies and windows should be carefully secured to ensure her complete safety. She’d thrive best with an experienced caregiver who understands the needs of cats that previously lived outdoors and is prepared to give her all the time she needs. We’re looking for someone who knows how to gently socialize a distrustful cat—someone patient and respectful of her boundaries, someone who will allow Chilli to open up to humans at her own pace.
