Chip – Shy boy (7 months)

Chihuahua · Male

Hi friends! My name is Chip, and I would love to find the right new home for me. I’ve lived all my life with my mum, dad and sister and really – I feel pretty safe with them BUT – somethings are scary and I warn them all – scary things are coming. OOOOh, I do like a good bark and tell those scary things off. I would like a new home, where you have an understanding of my breed – you can read about us here I need to have a nice steady friend too – that I can hide behind sometimes, and gain my confidence – I just feel everything is a little scary – I think its because I’ve been living with my extrovert sister Cookie. I’ve lived with children and cats, but we think because I’m such a scaredy cat – I really need calm children, preferably older as we know how noisy some children can be. I’m in search of an owner who can be a patient guide to help with my toilet training. Sadly, weve never really been shown whats right and wrong – can you help us follow all the rules? I’m not so great on the lead too – have you the patience to help me learn to walk properly – i LOVE playtimes and running free, but they tell me – sometimes I just have to behave – oh ok then. If I have to. I just want to have FUN !!! Here I am walking with Clover – “I saw it first, no I saw it first, I smelled it first, NO I smelt it first – oh go on them, oh come on then” If you think you have the right home for me, and I know I need someone really special – please fill in my Enquiry form on the link above. My adoption fee is £500.

About Chip – Shy boy (7 months)

What life with Chip – Shy boy (7 months) looks like

Chip – Shy boy (7 months) is a adult chihuahua dog waiting at Rain Rescue in United Kingdom.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Chip – Shy boy (7 months), answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Chip – Shy boy (7 months)?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Rain Rescue handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Chip – Shy boy (7 months) on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Chip – Shy boy (7 months) if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Rain Rescue will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Chip – Shy boy (7 months) already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Chip – Shy boy (7 months) isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Rain Rescue early rather than rehoming privately; they know Chip – Shy boy (7 months) and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (the shelter's own language). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
