Chipiron

Pomeranian · Male

Description Our animal welfare workers report: Chipiron presented a pitiful sight, having been tied to a tree by his owner when he fell ill. The small Pomeranian-Mix had a severely infected eye; the animal rescuer who was alerted to Chipiron's dire situation brought him directly to the clinic. Chipiron's eye could not be saved, and the medical help came too late, so the eye had to be removed to allow the little male dog to recover. Chipiron's owner was known, but when the animal rescuer contacted him, he showed no interest and took no responsibility. Chipiron was brought to a caring, Spanish foster home where he was allowed to recover physically. The situation of only having one eye is new for the brave little guy, and he hasn't fully adapted yet, so he still runs into doors and furniture. Also, his limited field of vision makes approaching the cats in the foster home rather clumsy, which likely upsets them, as they harass him, which is dangerous since Chipiron only has one eye. When Chipiron ran into one of the cats, it was not very tolerant, which made Chipiron's life harder. However, Chipiron gets along much better with his fellow animals, showing a friendly attitude, and the dogs accept his still uncoordinated movements with patience. The animal rescuer suspects that the little guy also doesn't see well on his remaining eye. Inside the home, Chipiron is quiet and wanders about leisurely; as soon as he's outside, he's overjoyed and becomes very active! Perhaps he hasn't had much walking and simply wants to make up for lost time. He enjoys running, jumping, and playing outdoors! It would be wonderful if Chipiron could follow the call of nature in his new home, naturally secured, as his vision is not fully restored and he is not yet accustomed to it. But this does not dim his other senses or his enthusiasm for life; Chipiron wants to finally enjoy life. Who will lend a caring eye to this compact, furry-nosed little guy and lead him through a comfortable life, which Chipiron so deserves after his heartless owner? About Chipiron

What life with Chipiron looks like

Chipiron is a adult pomeranian dog waiting at Tierischgeholfen e.V. in Germany.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Chipiron, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Chipiron?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierischgeholfen e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Chipiron on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Chipiron if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierischgeholfen e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Chipiron already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Chipiron isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierischgeholfen e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Chipiron and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
