Chips

Mixed Breed · Male · Puppy · 9 months

Chips is a tiny, 8.8-kilogram dog born in 2017, who carries not only the marks of past bites... but above all the marks of fear. This is one of those dogs whose life has not been kind, and now they have to learn that humans can be good. During the examination, we discovered numerous sores around the tail and on the back part of the spine - most likely from previous bites by other dogs. That's probably why Chip is now ruled by fear. In the kennel run, he lies in the hut, quietly, invisible, as if he wanted to melt into the background. He doesn't approach people. Outside, he trembles all over, as if the world was far too loud for him. Despite great uncertainty, he shows no aggression. While being taken out, he allowed himself to be touched, hugged, and even stroked - as if he knew that nothing was threatening him, but he just hadn't been able to believe it yet. On the day he was accepted into the animal shelter, he was more tense and uncooperative, but it's hard to blame him - everything was new, strange, terrifying. Chips has a low energy level and greatly needs a calm, patient person who will help him step by step overcome his fear. This is a dog for further socialization, conducted slowly, gently and with great sensitivity. We believe that inside this frightened body is a dog who will one day truly trust - because already now you can see that he allows himself to be touched, that something in him wants closeness, only it doesn't yet know how to ask for it. If you have a heart for these dogs - the quietest, most injured ones - fill out the adoption questionnaire and help Chip take the first step towards a better life. To pies do dalszej socjalizacji, takiej prowadzonej powoli, delikatnie i z ogromnym wyczuciem. Jeśli masz serce do takich psów – tych najcichszych, najbardziej poranionych – wypełnij ankietę adopcyjną i pomóż Chipsowi zrobić pierwszy krok ku lepszemu życiu. About Chips

What life with Chips looks like

Chips is a small puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Fundacja Puszatek in Warszawa.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Chips, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Chips?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Fundacja Puszatek handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Chips on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Chips if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Fundacja Puszatek will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Chips already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Chips isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Fundacja Puszatek early rather than rehoming privately; they know Chips and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
