adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Now request this dog! Chipsy can stay forever! Her story: Chipsy has something very unique about her – not only her gentle nature, but also her beautiful appearance: Her shining black fur is adorned with delicate beige markings, and her little tail ends in a white tip, as if someone had gently dipped it in icing. Together with her siblings Rusty and Rasmus, Chipsy has had a tough time behind her. The three were found severely ill – Parvo, a tricky disease that often ends fatally. Unfortunately, one of her siblings did not make it. But Chipsy has survived. Today, she lives in the our shelter in Fantanele. She currently weighs around 7 kilos, is about 40 cm tall, and will likely reach a medium adult size. But much more important is: Chipsy has a very fine character. She is calm, cautious, and sensitive – not a wild bee. She looks at everything carefully before she dares to take a few steps towards it. Chipsy gets along very well with other dogs. Whether she also gets along with cats, we still cannot say. But what she definitely needs is a loving home where she can arrive without pressure. People who give her the time she needs and do not overwhelm her. People who are happy about small progress and do not get angry about small mishaps. Positive dog training classes could help Chipsy build trust and learn the world playfully. For even though she may still appear shy: Chipsy would love to be just a normal little girl dog – play, snuggle, explore, and simply be loved. Maybe you are exactly the person who shows Chipsy how wonderful life can be. Imagine how she might one day gently lean against you, her white-tipped tail gently waving – and look at you with a grateful glance. Then you will know: It was worth it. Starting mid-November, Chipsy is ready to start her new life. She will be microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and treated for fleas, and will bring an EU pet passport. After a positive Chipsy is waiting to finally arrive. Maybe with you? Many thanks Andrea S.! Your nametag was the start of a new life! As of: 07.11.

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt diesen Hund anfragen! Stand: 07.11.2025

About Chipsy

What life with Chipsy looks like

Chipsy is a puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Chipsy, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Chipsy?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Chipsy on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Chipsy if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Chipsy already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Chipsy isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Chipsy and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
