Chisai

Mixed Breed · Male · Young · 3 years

adoption requirements adoption process Now adopt this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Chisai was locally rehomed! His story: Here comes a very special mix that will surely make anyone smile. The sweet Chisai is a unique optical mix and enchants with his character. Chisai is approximately 3 years old and a small male dog with a height of around 33 cm and a weight of 13 kg. We can only guess, but it seems like a bit of a crooked-legged mix with a bit of AmericanStaffTerrier came together and resulted in this nice, friendly, and rather playful fellow. We know nothing about his past, but we wish for him a beautiful future and a wonderful dog life. Upon arrival, Chisai must first settle in and get to know life in a household. The dog ABC should also be taught to him, as well as the beautiful sides of a dog life. Surrounded by loving people, nice dog buddies, and beautiful excursions. A visit to a dog training class would certainly be a cool thing to meet buddies and grow close to his people. For sure, shared training brings people together just as much as shared cuddles on the couch. We are looking for people with enough time for settling in and training. A positively reinforced training style is also a prerequisite, as well as a loving handling of Chisai. But there is a small obstacle to overcome in the search for a family. Chisai is a listen dog, most likely an American-Staffordshire-Terrier mix. This means that he falls into category 1 on the so-called Rasseliste in Germany, and it is not allowed for us to let him be exported to Germany. He can, however, be rehomed to Sweden, Belgium, or some cantons in Switzerland. AmStaffs are known to be character-strong dogs with a high energy drive and thus want to be physically and mentally challenged. They are looking for people who can lead them with love, but also consistently and sovereignly. AmStaffs have a playful nature and are highly intelligent and thus eager to learn. They are suitable for many different uses, such as in dog sports, working areas, or as companion dogs. AmStaffs are very sensitive dogs and are better suited for dog-experienced owners who can meet the physical and psychological needs of their four-legged friend and do them justice. Chisai travels neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and treated for fleas to his new home. He can be adopted for an adoption fee of 500 Euros. Who will fall in love with this sweet, crooked-legged fellow? Many thanks to Keri M.! Your namesake was the starting shot for a new life! Date: 04.11.

Vielen Dank Keri M.! Stand: 04.11.2024

About Chisai

What life with Chisai looks like

Chisai is a medium-sized young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Chisai, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Chisai?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Chisai on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Chisai if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Chisai already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Chisai isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Chisai and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
