Chispa

Female · Kitten · 4 months

Chispa breed: EKH gender: female born approximately May 2026 behavior towards dogs: not tested compatibility with children: yes compatibility with cats: yes A small kitten, almost still a baby, all alone, without protection... that's how Chispa was found. In the refuge she was able to recover and has grown into a beautiful cat girl, but her fear runs deep. She lets the Animaleas touch her, because she knows them, but she is suspicious of strangers. She must first learn to trust again - and that only goes in a home of her own with patient people who accept her pace and do not push her. Since she is still very young, we are pretty sure that she will overcome her fear and become a friendly, self-confident cat. She just needs time, peace and understanding. Treats, play sessions and caresses will certainly contribute to her development. Do you want to give the lovely Chispa the chance she deserves? Do you want to be the family she lost so early? You are aware that cats do not cope well with changes, so you probably won't see Chispa for the first few days? That doesn't bother you? Are you willing to work with her and invest time and patience? Great! Check out our homepage and fill out the self-disclosure. We will then contact you. And another general request to all people who have cats: Please castrate your cats! Street cats usually come from the uncontrolled mating of uncastrated free-roaming cats. Nobody wants to take care of the young ones, and they rarely survive longer than half a year on the street. Cars, diseases, parasites and cruel people are deadly for these poor souls. Help prevent cat suffering by having your cats castrated! Thank you!

Danke!

About Chispa

What life with Chispa looks like

Chispa is a puppy/kitten cat waiting at Hunde-Brücke e.V. in Germany.

Kittens are tiny chaos engines for about six months and then mellow rapidly. They need two scheduled feedings, a litter box per cat plus one extra, and somewhere high to climb. Spay/neuter happens around six months — most shelters arrange this before adoption.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Chispa, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Chispa?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Hunde-Brücke e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Chispa on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Chispa if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Hunde-Brücke e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Chispa already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Chispa isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Hunde-Brücke e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Chispa and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
