CHOCKY

Mixed Breed · Male · Young · 1 year

Location: in Spain Born: March 10, 2025 Gender: Male Character: A very handsome and affectionate tomcat Last updated: August 2, 2026 NOT TO BE KEPT ALONE! August 2, 2026 This stunningly handsome tomcat named Chocky is winning people’s hearts by storm. As a young kitten, he was rescued along with his three brothers and brought to our shelter. Chocky was the first of the kittens to be adopted. Meanwhile, his brothers have also found loving homes. In May of this year, Chocky’s owner asked us to temporarily take the cat in because she was planning to move. Unfortunately, she has now decided to give him up after all, as her new apartment is very small and doesn’t offer any outdoor space for the cat. Chocky is an absolute treasure who loves everyone. He adores attention and cuddles. He likes to sit on laps and will even suck on clothing, so you should expect a wet sleeve! He’s playful, affectionate, and full of joy for life. Chocky is a large tomcat, but he lets himself be easily lifted and carried in arms. In his previous home, Chocky lived with an older female cat. At the shelter, he meets the other cats in the yard. We’ve never seen him snuggle with any of them, but we think he’d happily get used to closer companionship with another cat in his new home. As a young kitten, he lived at a foster home with a small dog, but we don’t know how he’d react to a dog today. Chocky doesn’t have a particular best friend at the shelter yet, but he’d be thrilled to bring one of the other cats along or to live with an already existing cat. In his previous home, he lived with a small child, so he’d surely get along well with children too. This big tomcat needs a spacious outdoor area—a securely fenced garden or a large, connected balcony. Anyone who decides to adopt Chocky can look forward to a happy time with this special cat. With his beautiful blue eyes and silver-colored coat, he’ll quickly win over the hearts of his new family.

About CHOCKY

What life with CHOCKY looks like

CHOCKY is a very small young adult mixed breed cat waiting at Animal Help Espania in Odelzhausen.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting CHOCKY, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about CHOCKY?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Animal Help Espania handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw CHOCKY on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt CHOCKY if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Animal Help Espania will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is CHOCKY already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if CHOCKY isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Animal Help Espania early rather than rehoming privately; they know CHOCKY and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
