Choupi

Mixed Breed · Male · Adult · 4 years

I was born on September 8, 2025, in the streets of Tunisia, like my 5 brothers and sisters. Mom, who was constantly being chased away from wherever she landed, didn't know where to put us to protect us. She also had a hard time finding something to eat or just a little water to drink. One day, she found refuge in a classroom at a school. We thought we were saved, but it was the opposite! The students were mean, and the principal immediately called the municipality for "removal"! Thus, they condemned us to death in the worst way. Fortunately, Nozha is a teacher at this school, and thanks to The Man and His Dog, we were taken to a veterinary clinic. Finally, Mom would be able to eat and drink, and she would have more milk to better feed us. We had escaped an awful death! The veterinarian (who is not from the association) decided to vaccinate us all. That was a mistake. Our small, worn-out bodies, exhausted by straying and malnutrition, and our failing immune systems, made it so that, one after another, my brothers and sisters died. Only Cassie and I survived. Mom Capucine, of course. What sadness, we had escaped the worst, yet… We were transferred immediately to our association's veterinary clinic, where we gained strength, then to the partner family shelter where we joined all the other survivors. Choupi, a good little companion! We are in perfect condition, and today, for the first time, we went to the beach to take photos and videos. It was great! I ran and played a lot with Cassie, Billy, and Hugo, and Mom watched over us. We had a great time! We hope to find a family in France to adopt us! We will be able to leave Tunisia from May 21, Cassie and I will be 8 months old. We are of medium size, Mom weighs 17 kg. Cassie will probably be a little smaller, and I will be the same size as Mom. We are identified, vaccinated, and sterilized. We are okay with dogs, cats, and children, very social, playful, and joyful! To adopt us, you can contact Dominique at Choupi to talk about it, the adoption fees are 300 € for each of us TO HELP US: via Hello Asso: or: www.lhommeetsonchien.com/dons Your donations are tax-deductible at 66%! We transform your money into happiness!!! Thank you for your support!

About Choupi

What life with Choupi looks like

Choupi is a small adult mixed breed dog waiting at 30 Millions d'Amis in Paris.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇫🇷Adopting from France

French refuges follow the SPA framework: adopters sign a cession contract that includes sterilization, vaccinations, microchip identification, and rabies passport. Fees are typically €150–€300. Many refuges work with rescue transport partners for cross-border placements.

Frequently asked

Adopting Choupi, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Choupi?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. 30 Millions d'Amis handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Choupi on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Choupi if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — 30 Millions d'Amis will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Choupi already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Choupi isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with 30 Millions d'Amis early rather than rehoming privately; they know Choupi and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (FR). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
