Chucky

Mixed Breed · Male · Adult · 5 years

adoption requirements adoption process Adopt this animal now! adoption requirements adoption process Chucky can stay! His story: The beautiful Chucky is searching for a home on the countryside, with a sufficiently fenced garden where he can move and play freely. Chucky is approximately 1.5 years old, weighs about 30 kg, and stands about 61 cm tall. Chucky has been in Germany since September 2023, has regularly attended dog training classes, enjoys going there, and is happy to meet people and other dogs. He loves playing ball, toying in the water, and playing with other dogs. Chucky's trusted people, the family, and children love Chucky. However, strangers in the house are somewhat unsettling to him. On walks on the leash, Chucky likes to bark, has already tried chasing a cyclist, and is hard to hold. Therefore, a well-fenced garden is important for him so that he is not constantly exposed to this stress and it can be slowly practiced. Chucky is still in puberty. This phase is an important life stage for every dog, during which the foundations for the future are set. In this phase, previously learned things are often forgotten, and many rules are questioned again. But we are sure that the clever Chuky will emerge from this phase as a confident dog through loving and consistent training and develop into a great companion for his person. Chucky would be happy if he could continue attending the dog training classes, as shared training will strengthen his confidence and the bond to his person. We hope very much that someone will fall in love with the young man and offer him a suitable home. Chucky is neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and brings an EU pet passport. Many thanks Inga B.! You have given Chucky his identity! As of: 21.02. This animal was abandoned.

Vielen Dank Inga B.! Du hast Chucky seine Identität geschenkt! Stand: 21.02.2025

About Chucky

What life with Chucky looks like

Chucky is a large adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Chucky, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Chucky?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Chucky on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Chucky if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Chucky already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Chucky isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Chucky and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
