Polish English German You’ve got a buddy in me... And I think everyone has Toy Story’s Woody in mind. Today, we’d like to introduce you to Woody from Choszczno! He’s small, black, and delicate (weighing 8.5 kg)—that’s how he looks. But when it comes to his character, there’s definitely more to tell! He’s cheerful, lively, full of energy, eager for adventures, and incredibly friendly. Until recently, he wandered around the village, avoiding people—but today, he’s searching for his friend, the one with whom he’ll spend the rest of his life. Woody is about 7 years old, and judging by his behavior, he’s seen quite a bit in life already. The city isn’t a problem for him at all. He calmly passes bicycles, scooters, running children, and cars. He confidently explores stairwells, knows how to stop and sit down on a bench. But don’t think that just taking walks in nearby parks will be enough for him. Woody is a traveler; he loves long walks and absolutely loves being out in meadows, where he sniffs around and runs through tall grass. At the same time, he never forgets that there’s someone on the other end of the leash—and every now and then, he makes sure we’re still walking together. Besides long hikes, Woody loves food and dogs. He really wants to meet every dog he comes across. He doesn’t pull on the leash, isn’t pushy, always assesses the situation—but whenever he gets the chance, he goes over to say hello. He only avoids very boisterous dogs. He shows no interest in chasing wildlife. We’ve passed many birds, deer, and cats, and none of them made much of an impression on him. Who would Woody suit? I think he’d get along with anyone, but he’d thrive best in a calm home without small children. He’ll need long walks and new adventures, as well as plenty of interaction with other dogs. Woody is waiting at the shelter in Choszczno. If you’d like to meet him or learn more, please contact volunteer Karolina—Whatsapp 501. If you’d like to help this dog but can’t adopt him, we invite you to join us for walks! From Tuesday to Sunday, during the hours... polski English Deutsch Ty druha we mnie masz... I chyba każdy ma przed oczami Chudego z toy story. Dzisiaj chcemy Wam przedstawić Chudego z Choszczna! Oprócz długich wędrówek, Chudy uwielbia jedzenie i psy. Chudy czeka w schronisku w Choszcznie. Jeśli chcesz go poznać lub uzyskać więcej informacji skontaktuj się z wolontariuszką Karoliną - Whatsapp 501 Jeśli chcesz pomóc temu psu, a nie możesz go adoptować- zapraszamy na spacery! About Chudy

What life with Chudy looks like

Chudy is a small adult mixed breed dog waiting at Schronisko Choszczno in Poland.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Chudy, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Chudy?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Schronisko Choszczno handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Chudy on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Chudy if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Schronisko Choszczno will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Chudy already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Chudy isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Schronisko Choszczno early rather than rehoming privately; they know Chudy and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
