Misio Vel. Ori

Mixed Breed · Male · Senior · 10 years

Sensitive tough guy – Misio-Ori. Large, sturdy, and strong. He spent over six years in the shelter, a period that robbed him of joy and trust. At the shelter, he had only a few volunteers whom he would wait for by the kennel gate, with a ritualized greeting. Visits were always too short for him, and the daily routine at the shelter gradually wore him down. He also developed numerous fears about human behavior. Recently, he went to a foster home near Warsaw. And there, he turned out to be a different dog—cheerful and joyful. His shelter-induced inhibitions and fears are gradually fading away. Misio enthusiastically goes on walks, which are doing him good—improving his mood and health, and enhancing his physical condition. Misio-Ori’s interactions with other dogs require consideration and caution. At the shelter, he became friends with a female dog with whom he shared a kennel. With some dogs, he was reserved and tolerant, but with others, he got into sharp conflicts. Before ending up at the shelter, he lived freely on the grounds of a military base. He’d feel most comfortable in a home with a piece of land he could patrol at will and accompany his human companion in various activities. He needs a consistent caregiver who shows understanding of his past. Kind attention is also very important to him, and shared walks bring him great joy. Contact: 600 156 867, 608 890 013. Gender: male. Born around 2013. Size: large. Neutered: yes. We want to find the best possible home for him, so we’ll ask interested parties to fill out an adoption questionnaire: kundellos.pl/ankieta-adopcyjna/. By adopting a dog, you take responsibility for the life of a living creature for the next dozen or so years. An animal is not a thing. We do not give dogs away on chains! A condition of adoption is signing an adoption agreement, covering the costs of preventive care, and agreeing to possible pre- and post-adoption visits. Another condition of adoption is having the sterilization/castration procedure performed within the agreed timeframe, provided this procedure hasn’t already been carried out.

Wrażliwy twardziel – Misio-Ori. Duży, masywny i silny. Niedawno pojechał do domu tymczasowego w okolicach Warszawy. Kontakty Misia-Oriego z psami wymagają rozwagi i ostrożności. About Misio Vel. Ori

What life with Misio Vel. Ori looks like

Misio Vel. Ori is a large senior mixed breed dog waiting at Schronisko dla Zwierząt w Józefowie in Józefów.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Frequently asked

Adopting Misio Vel. Ori, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Misio Vel. Ori?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Schronisko dla Zwierząt w Józefowie handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Misio Vel. Ori on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Misio Vel. Ori if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Schronisko dla Zwierząt w Józefowie will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Misio Vel. Ori already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Misio Vel. Ori isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Schronisko dla Zwierząt w Józefowie early rather than rehoming privately; they know Misio Vel. Ori and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
