Čiko

Male · Young · 2 years

For adoption starting June 14, 2026. Little Cikoušek joined us from a litter of other puppies, nearly unsocialized, unfamiliar with common habits. In essence, he is a cheerful, kind dog who is good at masking it. He is very skeptical of strangers, avoids them in a wide arc, and it takes him a while to find his way to his person. However, the path to his heart definitely leads through his stomach (with a lot of patience) :-D Čiko is a bottom-feeder and with a bit of effort, he will try to chase a goat. At the moment, he handles basic manipulation and enjoys going on walks on a leash. He is a young, active dog who loves running, playing with toys, and will definitely be an enthusiastic tourist. After all, he is a terrier, so that’s to be expected :-) We are looking for a calm but active home without small children, preferably an apartment or a home with a garden. In a family where he can develop his potential to be a great dog, socialization, training, and upbringing will be important. Ideally, with a canine companion or a friendly playmate. His hygiene habits are not entirely 100%, but he tries very hard :-) He is microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and neutered, ready for adoption on an adoption agreement after the adoption fee (2500,-) is paid. Adoption is conditional on at least one non-binding visit! He is located in Svárov, Středočeský kraj.

About Čiko

What life with Čiko looks like

Čiko is a small young adult dog waiting at ForDogs z.s. in Czech Republic.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇨🇿Adopting from Czech Republic

Czech shelters (útulky) include sterilization, vaccinations, and microchip ID. The adopter signs a written contract (smlouva) — the shelter may follow up to verify wellbeing.

Frequently asked

Adopting Čiko, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Čiko?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. ForDogs z.s. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Čiko on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Čiko if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — ForDogs z.s. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Čiko already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Čiko isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with ForDogs z.s. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Čiko and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (CS). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
