Cindy

Mixed Breed · Female · Young · 1 year

Cindy is looking for a home through no fault of her own, but we don't think her search will be a long one! She's a very bouncy, high energy girl but she hasn't been walked much in the last few months. Due to this, Cindy has met many other dogs so she hasn't learned any social skills and although she's keen to meet them, she doesn't quite know what to do when the interest is returned. She is very strong on her lead also, so her adopters will need to be physically confident when walking her, and prepared to put in some loose lead training. There are times when Cindy is worried about her environment and this again comes down to do having been confined to a house and not experiencing anything outside. She will need a patient family who won't let her rush into things, but adjust with time and let her build up her confidence. Cindy is still just a pup and with the right family behind her, there's no reason she shouldn't blossom into a well adjusted, socialised adult dog who can live her life without fear or worry, but rather look forward to her next adventure. Cindy can live with teenagers but no other pets. She isn't house trained but she will go on pads, and will need all her basic training and to be socialised, as well as someone home with her most of the time, so that any solo time can be built up gradually.

About Cindy

What life with Cindy looks like

Cindy is a young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Dogs Trust Merseyside in Liverpool.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Cindy, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Cindy?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Dogs Trust Merseyside handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Cindy on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Cindy if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Dogs Trust Merseyside will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Cindy already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Cindy isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Dogs Trust Merseyside early rather than rehoming privately; they know Cindy and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
