Cirillino

European Shorthair · Unknown · Adult · 6 years

The sight of Cirillino upon his rescue will likely not be forgotten by the helpers… both hind legs outstretched, the bones clearly visible, and the poor tomcat was no longer able to walk. Lying there with no hope, surrounded by flies, he was ready to die. But the lovable tiger kitten had great luck and was brought to L.I.D.A., the large animal shelter in Olbia. There, with dedication, they fought for the life of Cirillino, and it can hardly be described any other way, but it was a miracle that he won the fight! The veterinarians and staff gave everything over months for the severely injured tomcat, and their efforts were rewarded! Just how Cirillino's accident looked, which almost cost him his life, will remain a secret, but he is ready for the second life that was given to him! The accident happened a year ago, and the tiger kitten has a long recovery behind him. One hind leg had to be amputated, and the other is slightly twisted, so he can only use it for short walks. But Cirillino is not defeated by this: he moves independently, gets along well, and shows every day how much courage and will to live are in him. Cirillino is about 6.5 years old and a lovable tomcat who, despite his severe misfortune, has not lost his joy in life and his great love for people. His character is simply irresistible. Cirillino is incredibly cuddly, actively seeks the company of people, and enjoys being held. He trusts quickly, is friendly, and is happy about any form of attention. He takes treats with enthusiasm, but he loves being with people the most. Despite his physical limitations, Cirillino is a cheerful, gentle, and grateful tomcat looking for a home where he will be loved just as he is.

About Cirillino

What life with Cirillino looks like

Cirillino is a large adult european shorthair cat waiting at PfotenFreunde Sardinien e.V. in Germany.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Cirillino, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Cirillino?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. PfotenFreunde Sardinien e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Cirillino on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Cirillino if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — PfotenFreunde Sardinien e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Cirillino already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Cirillino isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with PfotenFreunde Sardinien e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Cirillino and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
