adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Clara has hit the jackpot and can stay forever in her foster home! Clara is waiting in her foster home for you! Her story: Cluj, Romania. Clara, a real beauty in black and brown. She also has a white patch and a white whisker. Curious she looks into the camera, and honestly, who can resist that look? Clara is friendly, curious, and wants to be close to people and interact with them. She is not a shy puppy, quite the opposite. She is brave and likes to explore the world. Clara shows typical puppy behavior and loves people and other dogs. She has not met cats yet, but with her open nature, she will probably win their hearts too. Clara weighs 7 kg and is 33 cm tall. She is likely to grow to be medium-sized. Clara was born together with her sister Luise on a military base. The other puppies were taken away from their mother on-site. Even the mother was not allowed to be taken by our animal welfare workers, as they had no rights to do anything there. At least they were able to castrate the mother. Now, the little Clara is waiting in her Romanian foster home for an application. Clara is looking for people who are not expecting much from her and will show her how a normal dog life works. She is still a baby and has a lot to learn. Sometimes a little mishap shouldn't be held against her, and Clara should always be guided with a positive reinforcement training style. She is looking forward to her new life with nature walks, lots of snuggling, and also a visit to puppy school. Puppies should not be left alone as much as possible in their first year of life. Additionally, the more demanding pubertal phase is approaching. The hormone chaos will turn the little rascals' lives upside down. They "forget" often everything they have learned so far, and their ears are on full blast. Therefore, it is especially important in this phase to consistently but lovingly train. And there is also good news: This phase will pass! Clara has her luggage packed. She travels microchipped, vaccinated, flea-treated, and dewormed. She also has her EU pet passport in her luggage. Clara can be adopted for an adoption fee of 500 Euros, after a positive application. Clara looks forward to your application. Status: 09.03.2024 Many thanks Natalie P.! You have opened the way for Clara to a carefree future with your nametag sponsorship.

About Clara

What life with Clara looks like

Clara is a large puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Clara, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Clara?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Clara on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Clara if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Clara already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Clara isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Clara and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
