adoption requirements adoption process Now adopt this animal! adoption requirements adoption process The lovely Clara has found her home! Her story: Clara is about three months old and will grow into a large female dog. With her delicate 8 kg and 37 cm, she is already a dreamy sweet female dog waiting to find her new home in Zalau. Her story is unfortunately one we hear far too often: Clara was abandoned in the forest with her two siblings. Fortunately, an engaged helper learned of the situation and saved the little puppies. Clara shows typical puppy behavior: she is playful, curious, and loves being stroked. In new situations, she is initially a bit unsure but warms up quickly. Outdoors, she is one of the most relaxed of our young four-legged friends – a true natural talent in terms of calmness. The little angel exudes charm and self-assurance. She gets along well with other dogs; a compatibility with cats has not yet been tested. Her new family should be aware that Clara still has the entire puppy ABC to learn. House training, leash manners, and being left alone are still foreign words to her. But with patience, love, and perhaps the help of a positively working dog training class, Clara will master these challenges. Puberty is still on the horizon, in which she will surely test one or two boundaries – but with clear guidance, she will become a faithful lifelong companion. Clara is microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and flea-treated and has an EU pet passport. Starting in mid-February, she is ready to travel. Who will give Clara a loving forever home where she can experience the beautiful sides of life? Many thanks Natalie P.! With your name sponsorship, you have given the start signal for a new life! As of: 21.01.

Stand: 21.01.2025

About Clara

What life with Clara looks like

Clara is a large puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Clara, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Clara?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Clara on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Clara if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Clara already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Clara isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Clara and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
