Clarabelle

Mixed Breed · Female

Found by walkers in the woods near Sulzbach-Rosenberg, this grey Teddy rabbit girl had been "packed" in a cardboard box. Clarabelle has since thawed out nicely and is currently being introduced to a female friend. She looks good, and we would like to rehome the two of them together. The fluffy rabbit is rather unsuited to outdoor housing, so we are looking for a lovely home with indoor housing for the pair. To keep her silky coat from matting, she needs good grooming and regular brushing. She has already survived her first "hairdresser visit" :+) Clarabelle is a very strong-willed girl :+), and she is getting along quite well with her current housemate, which is why we would like to rehome the two of them together. -female -found in the woods near Sulzbach-Rosenberg

About Clarabelle

What life with Clarabelle looks like

Clarabelle is an adult mixed breed rabbit waiting at Tierheim Amberg in Ursensollen.

Rabbits are social animals — most shelters recommend adopting them in bonded pairs rather than alone. They need fresh hay daily, several hours of out-of-cage time, and rabbit-safe spaces to explore. They live eight to twelve years, longer than many people expect.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

Paperwork, vet checks and transport rules differ by species and by country. Ask the shelter what is included and what you will need to arrange before you commit.

Frequently asked

Adopting Clarabelle, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Clarabelle?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierheim Amberg handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Clarabelle on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Clarabelle if I live in another country?
Sometimes. Whether a rabbit can move between countries depends on the species and the rules in both countries, and some species need permits or have restrictions. Ask Tierheim Amberg what paperwork and transport they require, and check the import rules of your country before you commit.
Is Clarabelle already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
What a rabbit comes with (vet checks, vaccinations, identification, paperwork) varies by shelter and species. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask Tierheim Amberg directly what is included and what Clarabelle still needs.
What happens if Clarabelle isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierheim Amberg early rather than rehoming privately; they know Clarabelle and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
