Claude

Abyssinian · Male

Claude and Frankie came into our care via an RSPCA Inspector following welfare concerns. These handsome boys can be a little shy when meeting new people, and it’s clear they’re still learning that the world can be a safe and kind place. With gentle handling, patience and plenty of reassurance, they’re making lovely progress every day and slowly growing in confidence. Now they’ve had time to settle, their sweet personalities are beginning to shine through. They love nibbling on enrichment, exploring tunnels, darting between their hides and, every now and then, you’ll spot them happily “popcorning” as they investigate. Claude and Frankie share a brotherly bond and are looking for a for a calm and understanding home where they can continue to build their confidence at their own pace. In return, you’ll have the joy of watching two deserving little characters blossom and enjoy the happy future they’ve been waiting for. To help keep their bond strong, they’ll need to remain as a pair and won’t be suitable to bond with other guinea pigs. Could you give this deserving duo the loving forever home they’ve been waiting for?

About Claude

What life with Claude looks like

Claude is a small adult abyssinian cat waiting at RSPCA Suffolk Central Branch in United Kingdom.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Claude, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Claude?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. RSPCA Suffolk Central Branch handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Claude on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Claude if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — RSPCA Suffolk Central Branch will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Claude already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Claude isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with RSPCA Suffolk Central Branch early rather than rehoming privately; they know Claude and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
