Clemens - EKH

European Shorthair · Male · Senior · 13 years

Born: around 2013, in the animal shelter since: 20.04.2023, male, neutered From a large, out-of-control cat colony, Clemens came to us at the end of April 2023. The owner was completely overwhelmed with the husbandry. All were vaccinated, neutered, microchipped, and treated for endo- and ectoparasites. They were and still are partly very fearful, reacting with flight or even hissing and using their claws. Among themselves, they are very social, but panic sets in with humans. In their future home, there should definitely be a secure outdoor area. Other cats could be beneficial during the acclimatization process. Clemens has really bonded with Tristan, and we would be happy if the two found a shared home. They would also feel comfortable on a supervised farm where they can decide for themselves how close they want to get to humans. Update February 2026: Our Clemens is the last tomcat from the former "Katzenfall" still with us. Unfortunately, he has new health issues. His kidneys are not functioning as they should, and he needs special food and an additional daily medication. His leg deformity is unfortunately not operable, and the resulting patellar luxation causes him pain, so he needs a pain injection every 4 weeks. Otherwise, Clemens is simply very sweet, very tolerant (still good friends with Tristan), and when he has gained a little trust and likes someone, he is also very cuddly. About Clemens - EKH

What life with Clemens - EKH looks like

Clemens - EKH is a large senior european shorthair cat waiting at Tierschutzverein Dingolfing-Landau e.V. / Tierheim Quellenhof Passbrunn in Dingolfing.

Senior cats are the gentlest house guests: predictable, mostly silent, and grateful for a sunny windowsill. Older cats often have minor dental or kidney issues — keep an eye on water intake and weight. Many sleep eighteen hours a day and want no part of any drama.

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Clemens - EKH, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Clemens - EKH?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierschutzverein Dingolfing-Landau e.V. / Tierheim Quellenhof Passbrunn handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Clemens - EKH on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Clemens - EKH if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierschutzverein Dingolfing-Landau e.V. / Tierheim Quellenhof Passbrunn will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Clemens - EKH already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Clemens - EKH isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierschutzverein Dingolfing-Landau e.V. / Tierheim Quellenhof Passbrunn early rather than rehoming privately; they know Clemens - EKH and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
