Clementine

Lurcher · Female · Adult · 4 years

Clementine is such a gorgeous girl, with such a sweet temperament. Due to having some sore skin, she has been having medicated baths which she has been very tolerant for and is taking some additional tablets to help with itchiness. She was also quite thin when she first came into our care and so she does sometimes want all the food for herself. We have noticed that she will occasionally guard food from other dogs - mainly grumbles around treats on the floor - so this may need to be managed in the home. Clem has been staying in one of our wonderful foster homes where she has felt safe and confident enough to show her playful side and it is now rare to see her without one of her rubber toys in her mouth! She is such a lovely girl, and we can't wait to see her thriving and looking like a happy, healthy dog in a loving home! Meet our gorgeous Clementine, a 4-year old Lurcher girl looking for her forever home. Little Clem has had a rough start to life and as you can see, her skin still has a bit of healing to do. She gets her confidence from being around other dogs, so would ideally be rehomed with another dog, pending a successful meet at our centre. Clem is a sweet girl who can live with children as young as 8 years old, as long as they are calm and sensible. When meeting new people, she likes to be able to come to the person in her own time but we know with a bit of confidence building and TLC she will be the most loving girl. Once she has built that bond with you Clem loves a good fuss and she will be such a wonderful addition to the family. Clementine loves to get out for sniffy walks with her doggy friends, and would really benefit from a family that is willing to keep up with her confidence building and basic training as she did miss out on a lot of this. We cannot wait to see her curled up on her forever sofa, lapping up all the love and affection she so deserves!

About Clementine

What life with Clementine looks like

Clementine is a adult lurcher dog waiting at Dogs Trust Cardiff in Cardiff.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Clementine, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Clementine?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Dogs Trust Cardiff handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Clementine on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Clementine if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Dogs Trust Cardiff will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Clementine already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Clementine isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Dogs Trust Cardiff early rather than rehoming privately; they know Clementine and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
