Adopt Cleo und Branko

Mixed Breed · Unknown

Cleo und Branko were dropped off with Ada and Devi, thus in total four, by us after their owner passed away. Ada and Devi were already allowed to move into their new home, while now Cleo und Branko are still waiting for their people. Unfortunately, we cannot say anything about their previous living conditions, but it is certain that they both need a long adaptation period before they become braver and start to trust. Cleo has already adapted well to life at the animal shelter. Although she has not been touched yet, she walks around freely, shows curiosity, and even plays with familiar people. Unfortunately, Cleo was born with a congenital defect in her front limbs - both shoulders are missing, which can be seen in her somewhat unusual gait. While an operation cannot be performed to correct this, she manages quite well. However, in the long term, pain medication will likely be necessary. Branko was very fearful until recently. Most of the time, he hid somewhere and only ventured out when no people were present. If someone came too close, he made it clear with his hissing that he did not feel comfortable and fled. Over time, however, Branko also began to venture out of his hiding place more often and to show himself to familiar people. Now, after a very long adaptation period of about a year, Branko shows himself more openly and actively seeks contact with us. With people he knows, he asks for cuddles and can be a bit clingy. We are looking for a home for Cleo und Branko without much chaos and suitable for apartment living, where they can settle down in peace. Small children should not live in the new home. However, the two can get along well with other cats. This animal was surrendered to the shelter.

About Cleo und Branko

What life with Cleo und Branko looks like

Cleo und Branko is a medium-sized adult mixed breed cat waiting at Tierheim Wiesbaden in Wiesbaden.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

Note from the shelter: Cleo has congenital forelimb deformity - missing shoulder joints bilaterally causing abnormal gait. Will eventually need pain medication long-term.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Cleo und Branko, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Cleo und Branko?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierheim Wiesbaden handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Cleo und Branko on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Cleo und Branko if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierheim Wiesbaden will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Cleo und Branko already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Cleo und Branko isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierheim Wiesbaden early rather than rehoming privately; they know Cleo und Branko and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
