Adopt Ginny und Fili

Domestic Rabbit · Female · 7 years

Names: Ginny und Fili Gender: female and male - both neutered Age: she *08.11.16 and he *09/18 The rabbit pair Ginny (brown) and Fili are looking for a special home. People are needed who are best suited to dealing with dental patients. Because Ginny has a tooth gap where food can easily get stuck. Her people must then decide when a visit to the vet is necessary or how long they can wait. Because Ginny sneezes due to the irritation (pressure) in the tooth gap. Most of the time, she can get the food remnants out of the gap herself, but occasionally, the vet (possibly under anesthesia) needs to intervene. Additionally, both animals are at risk of developing a blockage in the intestines due to excessive fur during a strong molt. At this point, attention should be paid to the smallest changes in condition. Those who take on these tasks seriously will be rewarded with two wonderful companions who can be kept very clean and are suitable for apartment living. A visit from the two on the couch included.

About Ginny und Fili

What life with Ginny und Fili looks like

Ginny und Fili is a small adult domestic rabbit rabbit waiting at Tierheim Wiesbaden in Wiesbaden.

Rabbits are social animals — most shelters recommend adopting them in bonded pairs rather than alone. They need fresh hay daily, several hours of out-of-cage time, and rabbit-safe spaces to explore. They live eight to twelve years, longer than many people expect.

Note from the shelter: Ginny has dental issues with food getting stuck in tooth gap requiring monitoring and potential vet visits. Both rabbits are at risk of intestinal blockages during heavy shedding periods.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Ginny und Fili, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Ginny und Fili?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierheim Wiesbaden handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Ginny und Fili on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Ginny und Fili if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierheim Wiesbaden will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Ginny und Fili already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most rabbits on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Ginny und Fili isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierheim Wiesbaden early rather than rehoming privately; they know Ginny und Fili and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
