Clover

Cavalier King Charles Spaniel Β· Female Β· Adult Β· 4 years

πŸ“ Location: Huddersfield, West Yorkshire Age: 4 years Sex: Female Good with dogs? Yes. Clover could be an only dog if someone is home all the time, but she would need a resident dog if she is to be left alone at all. Good with children? Yes, although Clover can jump up when excited. Time able to be left alone: Very limited. Clover has separation anxiety and needs someone at home most of the time. Clover is a gorgeous 4-year-old Cavalier who came into rescue through absolutely no fault of her own. She is an incredibly people-focused little girl who absolutely loves human company. Clover wants to be with her person as much as possible and will happily follow you from room to room throughout the house. She is extremely affectionate and loves everyone she meets. Clover is very much the sort of dog who wants to be involved in everything and would suit someone looking for a close, devoted companion. Clover does suffer from separation anxiety, so her new home needs to be carefully matched to her needs. She could potentially live as an only dog if her adopter is home all the time and able to provide the companionship she relies on. If Clover is going to be left for short periods, she will need to live with at least one suitable resident dog to provide reassurance and company. She is not suitable for a home where she would regularly be left alone for longer periods. Clover walks well on the lead and enjoys getting out and about, although she would benefit from some continued basic training in her new home. She is good around children, although she can jump up when excited, so any children in the home should be comfortable around an enthusiastic dog and understand appropriate boundaries. She travels well in the car and settles nicely on the rear seat when safely secured with a seatbelt. Clover is a loving, affectionate little girl who simply wants to be close to her humans. She will thrive in a home where she can enjoy plenty of company, affection, routine and reassurance. 🧠 Chiari Malformation: Since coming into rescue, Clover has displayed signs consistent with Chiari Malformation and is now doing much better on inexpensive medication. πŸ’Š On medication? Yes. Clover currently takes ongoing medication to keep her comfortable. ❀️ Heart: Clover is currently heart clear. Regular veterinary heart checks should continue as part of her routine care. 🦷 Dental treatment: Clover has had dental treatment while in rescue. βœ‚οΈ Spayed? Yes. Clover has been spayed while in rescue. Her adopter will need to continue her prescribed medication and routine veterinary monitoring. 🐾 Behaviour traits: Extremely affectionate, sociable, people-focused, loving and devoted. Clover loves human company and will follow her person around the home. 🎾 Activity level: Moderate – Clover enjoys her walks and being involved in everyday family life. πŸ“š Training required: Continued basic training, calm boundaries around jumping up, and gentle work on her separation anxiety. 🏑 Type of home required: A loving home where someone is around for most of the day. Clover needs adopters who understand separation anxiety and can provide her with plenty of companionship, consistency and reassurance. πŸ“© Apply for Clover here:

About Clover

What life with Clover looks like

Clover is an adult cavalier king charles spaniel dog waiting at Bliss Cavalier Rescue in United Kingdom.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" β€” quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures β€” to let them settle.

πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Clover, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Clover?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Bliss Cavalier Rescue handles screening and the adoption contract directly β€” TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Clover on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Clover if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad β€” Bliss Cavalier Rescue will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Clover already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported β€” ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Clover isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work β€” that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Bliss Cavalier Rescue early rather than rehoming privately; they know Clover and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect β€” names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
