Odin

Cavalier King Charles Spaniel Β· Male Β· Puppy Β· 4 months

Cavalier King Charles Spaniel 10 years Odin came into FODDR as an ex puppy farm stud dog. He had been badly treated and had no trust in humans. This little man was covered in open sores, had terrible eye & ear infections which had been left untreated and was so malnourished he was unable to stand or walk. On arrival with us he was also found to have terrible arthritis and a mass was discovered on his thyroid gland. A scan also picked up old fractures in his neck. Along with MVD and SM this chap has very certain needs. His foster carer at the time gave him the tlc he needed which obviously did the trick and he went from strength to strength. Odin found his feet and realised not all humans are cruel. Odin loves squeaky toys, he can hear them a mile off and comes bumbling in to find and steal them. The little man has also found his bark and lets everyone know he's here. Odin has very specific health issues and his foster carer is looking after him very well with massage & acupuncture sessions.

About Odin

What life with Odin looks like

Odin is a puppy cavalier king charles spaniel dog waiting at Forest of Dean Dog Rescue in United Kingdom.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window β€” house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Odin, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Odin?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Forest of Dean Dog Rescue handles screening and the adoption contract directly β€” TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Odin on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Odin if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad β€” Forest of Dean Dog Rescue will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Odin already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported β€” ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Odin isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work β€” that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Forest of Dean Dog Rescue early rather than rehoming privately; they know Odin and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect β€” names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
