Clover

Mixed Breed · Female · Young · 1 year

D.O.B: Aug 2025 Will be medium sized (15-17kg) Not yet, too young Meet Clover! Clover and her litter mates were found tied up in a sack and abandoned. Thankfully, one of the pups managed to chew a hole through the fabric and save them all. Clover along with her siblings got their second chance at life that day. While her brothers and sisters are all now settled into their new homes, Clover is still waiting for someone to choose her. Thankfully Clover is in a wonderful foster home near Worcester. We honestly don’t know why she’s been overlooked, she truly is such a special, gentle soul. She is such a beautiful girl , joyful, playful, and so incredibly loving. Once she knows you, she absolutely craves contact and cuddles. She loves climbing up for a lap cuddle, will happily join you for a lie in, ( if given the chance ) and just completely melts into you. She is so gentle with her affection, often giving sweet little nose-to-hand or nose-to-nose nudges. Clover loves water, and surprisingly, isn’t bothered by thunder and lightning at all …Because of her rough start, she can be a little shy at first and sudden movements can spook her. But if you take things slow she warms up beautifully and that deeply affectionate side comes right out Clover is fantastic with other dogs of all shapes and sizes. She’s met plenty of new friends in her foster home, is always very calm during introductions. Because she can be a bit timid, we’re looking for a nice rural semi rural home with a nice secure garden with grass , and another friendly dog to play with. Shelter life didn’t do this sweet girl justice, but now that she’s in a foster home, she is truly starting to flourish. All she needs is a patient family, a comfy sofa, and a little bit of time to show you what an incredible companion she is. As you can imagine, each one of our dogs is very precious to us, they haven’t had the best start in life and therefore it is absolutely crucial we find the right homes for them. When you complete a registration form, please tell us as much as you can about why you are looking to adopt a dog and how you think you can meet their needs. Every dog is an individual and our amazing rehoming team will know exactly what type of home each dog needs to thrive. For example, will the dog cope with a small garden or is it the type of dog who needs to live in a rural environment? Will the dog enjoy being around children, or is it best suited to an adult only home? Will it cope sharing a home with other pets, or is it best as an only dog? Are you outdoorsy types who like to go hiking, or would you prefer a dog who is happy to snuggle up on the sofa with you? Our rehoming team will be very familiar with the needs of each of our dogs and the information you provide on your application form will help them to match you with the right dog. About Clover

What life with Clover looks like

Clover is a small young adult mixed breed dog waiting at 1 Dog At A Time Rescue UK in United Kingdom.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Clover, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Clover?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. 1 Dog At A Time Rescue UK handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Clover on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Clover if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — 1 Dog At A Time Rescue UK will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Clover already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Clover isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with 1 Dog At A Time Rescue UK early rather than rehoming privately; they know Clover and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
