Adopt Clyde and Tweed

Mixed Breed · Female · Kitten · 4 months

AGE: 3 weeks (3/05) Ready 13/06 BREED: Domestic short hair x2 SEX: Male x 1 Female x 1 IDEAL HOME: access to the outdoors when they’re old enough LIVING WITH CHILDREN: I could live with children 8 years plus LIVING WITH DOGS: we could live with a dog who is used to living with cats LIVING WITH CATS: we could live with another well socialised cat Clyde and Tweed are the last pair of Rivers litter of 6 looking for their forever home. They were all born here at the centre after their mum, River, was found as a heavily pregnant stray. She arrived very underweight, which was a concern, but with plenty of care and as much food as she could eat, she safely gave birth to six healthy babies. River is continuing to gain weight and is doing really well, and she has been a wonderful, attentive mum. The kittens are still young and currently being cared for by their mum, but they will be ready for rehoming from 13/06/26. To help them settle and thrive, we will be rehoming them in male and female pairs. As young kittens, they will need homes that can provide plenty of time, patience, and commitment. Kittens require lots of play, interaction, and enrichment to support their development, as well as a good routine and guidance as they learn and grow. They will need appropriate kitten food, regular vet care, and a safe, loving environment where they can build confidence. Initially, they will need to be kept indoors while they settle into their new homes. With the right care and attention, these little ones will grow into happy, well-adjusted companions. They will also be booked in at Saltburn Vets for neutering when they are old enough. Their new owners will be responsible for taking them to this appointment as part of their ongoing care. The cost of neutering, vaccinations, microchipping, as well as flea and worm treatment is all included in the adoption fee. These six are off to a great start in life and will make wonderful additions to loving homes ready for the fun and responsibility of raising kittens. Interested in adopting Clyde and Tweed? About Clyde and Tweed

What life with Clyde and Tweed looks like

Clyde and Tweed is a puppy/kitten mixed breed cat waiting at SARA Ann Prosser Foundation in United Kingdom.

Kittens are tiny chaos engines for about six months and then mellow rapidly. They need two scheduled feedings, a litter box per cat plus one extra, and somewhere high to climb. Spay/neuter happens around six months — most shelters arrange this before adoption.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Clyde and Tweed, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Clyde and Tweed?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. SARA Ann Prosser Foundation handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Clyde and Tweed on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Clyde and Tweed if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — SARA Ann Prosser Foundation will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Clyde and Tweed already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Clyde and Tweed isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with SARA Ann Prosser Foundation early rather than rehoming privately; they know Clyde and Tweed and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
