Coco & Buddha

European Shorthair · Male · Adult · 5 years

Coco and Buddha are a close duo that complement each other beautifully. They enjoy each other's company, while also relishing their own quiet moments. Coco (black-white) is a calm, caring cat who prefers routine. He thoroughly enjoys being petted or even held, something he secretly can't get enough of. Buddha (black) is a more playful, mischievous cat who loves to go on adventures. Whether he's climbing high in a scratching post or digging dirt out of the planters, this young man enjoys expressing his energy. Buddha can also immensely enjoy an extended cuddle or play session and loves to curl up on laps. Both can be initially a bit wary of strangers but soon warm up to affectionate companions. We place Coco and Buddha in a loving, cozy household where someone is often at home. Coco and Buddha are accustomed to children and get along well with them. They can be placed with children as young as two years old. Coco and Buddha have little interest in going outside, though they would certainly appreciate a safe, enclosed yard. Over time, Buddha might want to discover the green, peaceful surroundings.

NL·Show original

Ga terug

About Coco & Buddha

What life with Coco & Buddha looks like

Coco & Buddha is a adult european shorthair cat waiting at Dierentehuis Arnhem in Netherlands.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇳🇱Adopting from Netherlands

Dutch shelters typically require a household assessment and an adoption contract. Animals are routinely sterilized, microchipped, and registered in the national pet database (NDG) before placement.

Frequently asked

Adopting Coco & Buddha, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Coco & Buddha?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Dierentehuis Arnhem handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Coco & Buddha on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Coco & Buddha if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Dierentehuis Arnhem will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Coco & Buddha already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Coco & Buddha isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Dierentehuis Arnhem early rather than rehoming privately; they know Coco & Buddha and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (NL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
