Coco

Podenco · Male · Adult · 4 years

We know very little about his past, but he arrived in a deplorable state. We believe he suffered abuse or was confined without affection until his abandonment. He has adapted very well to the shelter, even though he is very active and curious, and confinement is very difficult for him. Coco, he is a beautiful mixed-breed dog, born in June 2022, a big softie weighing 26 kg for 65 cm of curiosity and love. At the shelter, he is unhappy in his kennel… because Coco, he loves life, walks, and especially cuddles. As soon as he is let out, he is a different dog: docile, joyful, and perfectly attentive. He returns as soon as he is called, does not pull on the leash, and behaves impeccably with other dogs. On walks, he loves to play, sniff, observe—basically, he loves to enjoy life! Coco is a curious, active, and intelligent dog who has quickly adapted to the shelter, but it’s clear: the kennel is not for him. He dreams of a garden, a family, and walks (and if possible, a soft couch for naps). He is an easy-going, gentle, and affectionate dog who needs tenderness. He just waits to leave the shelter and enter your life. More photos/videos: BIENTOT COCO interest you? About Coco

What life with Coco looks like

Coco is a large adult podenco dog waiting at 30 Millions d'Amis in Paris.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇫🇷Adopting from France

French refuges follow the SPA framework: adopters sign a cession contract that includes sterilization, vaccinations, microchip identification, and rabies passport. Fees are typically €150–€300. Many refuges work with rescue transport partners for cross-border placements.

Frequently asked

Adopting Coco, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Coco?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. 30 Millions d'Amis handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Coco on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Coco if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — 30 Millions d'Amis will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Coco already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Coco isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with 30 Millions d'Amis early rather than rehoming privately; they know Coco and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (FR). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
