Coco

Mixed Breed · Female · Young · 1 year

adoption requirements adoption process Now adopt this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Coco has finally found a home! Her story: There she sits, the chocolate brown Coco, not knowing what will become of her. The shelter is unbearable, but she had the good fortune to be taken in. She is in safety and not confined to a cramped cage like in many other shelters. She lives with other dogs and is learning to get along with them. She may not know that she was fortunate, but she longs for a warm spot with loving people where she can grow up protected. Coco is approximately 1 year old and about 50 cm tall. She probably doesn't know what an everyday family life is like and still has to learn the entire dog ABC. Positive reinforcement dog training classes would certainly be helpful here. But first, she needs time to settle in and orient herself in the completely foreign world both inside and outside. We are looking for patient and loving adopters who can give her this time, guide her step by step into her new life, and love her for life. A foster home would also be a great start for Coco. Who will bring the friendly beauty to their home and let her shine? She travels neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and treated for fleas to her new home, brings her EU pet passport, and will be rehomed for an adoption fee of 500 Euros. Many thanks, Natalie P., for giving Coco her fitting name and thus her identity. As of: 08.07.

Stand: 08.07.2023

About Coco

What life with Coco looks like

Coco is a large young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Coco, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Coco?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Coco on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Coco if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Coco already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Coco isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Coco and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
