Adopt Coco3

Labrador Retriever · Male

Description Our animal welfare workers report: Our black bear Coco3 is a wonderful dog! If he could, he would hug people with his love all day long. Unfortunately, we don't know much about the past of the friendly and cheerful male dog. Coco3 was picked up by the police after neighbors reported a stray dog wandering the streets. Since he didn't have a microchip, our partner shelter's animal welfare workers took him in. However, he likely had a home, as he looks well-cared for and is very unhappy in the enclosure. To this day, no one has searched for or inquired about the beloved Coco3. He is simply a great guy. Coco3 is a dog with an extraordinary nature; he is clingy, sociable, and affectionate. He really likes people and playing and snuggling are his absolute favorite activities. He enjoys life and is very enthusiastic. "Always in the thick of it" is his motto. He gets along well with all other dogs, regardless of gender, and walks nicely on a leash. On long walks, he is certainly a wonderful companion. Similarly, he is well-behaved as a passenger in the car. Hopefully, Coco3 will soon find a new home and a family where he can be a true friend and a beloved family member. We wish the dear Coco3 all the best!! Update07.05.2026 New Photos30.04.2026 New Video As with most animals from abroad, Coco3 will also need to adjust to life in the new home, as he knows neither large crowds of people nor the noisy traffic of a city from Spain. But we are optimistic that he will adapt well. We wish for Coco3 a home in a more rural environment where he can enjoy nature with his people. We are looking for people who are willing to take this wonderful dog with patience, time, and in an affectionate way to the life and the new home. Please note:

About Coco3

What life with Coco3 looks like

Coco3 is a large adult labrador retriever dog waiting at Tierischgeholfen e.V. in Germany.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Coco3, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Coco3?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierischgeholfen e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Coco3 on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Coco3 if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierischgeholfen e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Coco3 already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Coco3 isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierischgeholfen e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Coco3 and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
