Cody (E.c. positiv)

Male · Young · 3 years

Cody (weight approx. 1.9kg) was taken together with three other rabbits by the veterinary office due to poor husbandry. After his castration quarantine (starting from December 19, 2025), he is looking for a home with a nice female rabbit. At first, Cody was very shy due to the bad experience in his old home. However, he is gradually warming up to us and is now very curious. He does not want to be touched yet. As he belongs to the breed "Widder," special attention must be paid to his hearing. So far, he has not been affected. Cody is currently housed indoors. If interested, please contact us via email () and add a few photos of your rabbit hutch, as well as one from the vaccination card of your female rabbit.

Cody wohnt derzeit in Innenhaltung. Bei Interesse kontaktieren Sie uns bitte per E-mail () und fügen direkt ein paar Fotos von Ihrem Gehege, sowie eines vom Impfpass Ihres Kaninchenweibchens hinzu.

About Cody (E.c. positiv)

What life with Cody (E.c. positiv) looks like

Cody (E.c. positiv) is a small young adult rabbit waiting at Tierheim Düsseldorf in Düsseldorf.

Rabbits are social animals — most shelters recommend adopting them in bonded pairs rather than alone. They need fresh hay daily, several hours of out-of-cage time, and rabbit-safe spaces to explore. They live eight to twelve years, longer than many people expect.

Note from the shelter: E.c. positive - requires ongoing monitoring for Encephalitozoon cuniculi parasite. Needs special attention to ear canals due to lop breed characteristics.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Cody (E.c. positiv), answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Cody (E.c. positiv)?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierheim Düsseldorf handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Cody (E.c. positiv) on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Cody (E.c. positiv) if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierheim Düsseldorf will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Cody (E.c. positiv) already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most rabbits on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Cody (E.c. positiv) isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierheim Düsseldorf early rather than rehoming privately; they know Cody (E.c. positiv) and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
