Cohete

Male · Young · 3 years

Cohete's story is one that breaks your heart and heals it at the same time. He was rescued with a horrific abscess on his face and neck. It was months of hard treatment, fear, and patience. But Cohete didn't give up. Today he has no scars left on his body. And we believe his soul is also healed now. He was born and lived in a controlled colony in the mountains with his brothers Gritón and Peque. Everything was fine... until he started to look at the road and seek human contact. He became sociable. And we know how it ends for a sociable cat on the street: he loses fear of everything at once. Of people. Cars. Dogs. It's a death sentence. That's why Cohete can no longer return. And now, he has discovered what a home is. He loves it. He sleeps peacefully, plays, trusts. He is an incredible cat with other cats. In his foster home, he is the friend everyone would want to have if they feel lonely. That's why we are looking for adoption or fostering where there is already another feline. He wants company to be happy all the time. Age: 3 years old! If you can't adopt, but want to help: we also look for temporary foster care. We take care of food, litter, and veterinarian. Cohete has suffered enough on the street. Now he just wants a sofa, games, and a feline friend with whom to share his life. Are you his person? Write to us about him!

About Cohete

What life with Cohete looks like

Cohete is a young adult cat waiting at CES Sant Feliu (adoptaungatito.es) in Spain.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇪🇸Adopting from Spain

Spanish protectoras generally include sterilization, all vaccinations, microchip ID, and EU pet passport in the adoption fee (typically €250–€400 for a dog, €100–€180 for a cat). Many maintain partnerships with rescue transport providers across the EU.

Frequently asked

Adopting Cohete, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Cohete?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. CES Sant Feliu (adoptaungatito.es) handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Cohete on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Cohete if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — CES Sant Feliu (adoptaungatito.es) will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Cohete already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Cohete isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with CES Sant Feliu (adoptaungatito.es) early rather than rehoming privately; they know Cohete and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (CA). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
