adoption requirements adoption process Adopt now this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Colleen can travel directly to your final destination! Their story: Bistrita, Romania. The lives of the four siblings Colleen, Aramis, Viviane, and Samantha begin dark and cruel. In early January, the four puppies and their mother are thrown over the fence into the yard in Romania by Paul. The mother of the four is attacked by other dogs and does not survive. Now their adorable little ones are on their own and wait in their foster home for the move that will change their lives. Colleen is a pretty female puppy that immediately captivates everyone with her white fur and brown ears. The little female dog is around 3 months old and, despite her difficult start in life, has a joyful, open, and lovable personality. She looks forward to lots of love and attention and especially enjoys playing and cuddling in her foster home. Colleen is a very social female dog that gets along without any problems with other dogs and cats. The little ones will stay small. Since Colleen is a puppy, she can't do anything yet. Accordingly, we are looking for a new home for the little mouse, which will not expect anything from her at the moment. With lots of patience, love, and the occasional treat, you can eventually show Colleen how wonderful it can be to lead a loved life as a dog. Please keep in mind that Colleen, like her siblings, still has puberty ahead. A time when young dogs often have a bit of mischief in their heads and test boundaries. If you stand by the female dog with loving consistency during this time, nothing will stand in the way of her becoming the dream dog! The little one would be very happy to attend a positively working puppy class or dog training class. After a positive class, she will be microchipped, dewormed, and equipped with an EU pet passport. She would also be very happy about a loving foster home! Has Colleen managed to make your heart beat a little faster? We look forward to your inquiry! Many thanks Tamara H.! You have named Colleen!

Vielen Dank Tamara H.! Du hast Colleen ihren Namen geschenkt!

About Colleen

What life with Colleen looks like

Colleen is a small puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Colleen, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Colleen?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Colleen on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Colleen if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Colleen already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Colleen isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Colleen and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
