Connor

Border Collie · Male · Puppy · 8 months

With the right home, Connor is going to make an incredibly loyal, fun-loving companion. If you're looking for a bright, active best friend to join you on all of life's adventures, Connor could be the perfect match. Connor is an 8-month-old Border Collie with a huge personality and an even bigger zest for life! This intelligent young lad is full of energy and enthusiasm, and he's looking for an active home that can keep both his mind and body busy. As you'd expect from a Border Collie, Connor is incredibly clever and eager to learn. He will thrive with owners who enjoy training, enrichment activities, and getting out and about for adventures together. Connor can become very stressed when left alone, so he is looking for a home where someone is around for most of the day initially and can help him gradually build confidence with being left. His new family will need to be patient and committed to continuing his training in this area. Connor could live with sensible, confident children aged 14 and over who are comfortable around lively, bouncy dogs. He is friendly with other dogs and enjoys socializing, but he can be quite over the top in his excitement and doesn't always read canine manners perfectly. For this reason, we feel Connor would benefit from being the only dog in the home for now while his training and social skills continue to develop.

About Connor

What life with Connor looks like

Connor is a extra-large puppy/kitten border collie dog waiting at Dogs Trust Kenilworth in Kenilworth.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Connor, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Connor?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Dogs Trust Kenilworth handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Connor on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Connor if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Dogs Trust Kenilworth will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Connor already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Connor isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Dogs Trust Kenilworth early rather than rehoming privately; they know Connor and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
