Cooper

Mixed Breed · Male · Adult · 5 years

Meet the darling little boy that is Cooper Sadly, Cooper had an owner who didn’t care much for him. He was left unneutered for many years, and the other male cats on the street repeatedly attacked him, eventually leaving him needing emergency veterinary treatment. He was returned to his owner by the RSPCA, who sadly put him straight back outside with his open wounds and bucket collar still on. Thankfully, the lovely ladies on the street had been keeping a close eye on him, and we have now managed to step in and get Cooper safely signed over to us. Since coming into our care, Cooper has been neutered, vaccinated, microchipped and fully blood tested, and he is now in tip-top condition. Cooper was definitely not made for the thug life! He has shown himself to be a cuddly, gentle and complete gentleman who was so sadly underappreciated. Here’s what Cooper’s fosterer has to say about him: “Cooper is an extraordinarily loving cat who likes to get on your lap and have cuddles. He spends a lot of time lounging about and snoozing! He is a very good companion cat and will follow you around the house. He is a right little character and just wants to be with somebody. When he is asleep in his bed, you will catch him with one eye open to see if you’re still there. If he realises you have gone, he will go looking for you whilst chirping. It is very sweet. He just wants to be loved.” He currently lives happily with other cats and could live in a multi-cat household, but he would also be perfectly happy as the only cat. 🐶 He has never lived with dogs, so this would need to be considered on an individual basis. 👧 He can live with children of all ages. 🏡 Cooper needs a home with a cat flap, away from busy main roads. This gorgeous boy has been through far more than he ever should have, and all he wants now is someone who will love him, cherish him and never let him down again. If you can offer Cooper the forever home he so desperately deserves, please get in touch. He really is an absolute gem of a boy and is available to meet in Canterbury. Could you be Cooper’s forever family?

About Cooper

What life with Cooper looks like

Cooper is a adult mixed breed cat waiting at Flori in United Kingdom.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Cooper, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Cooper?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Flori handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Cooper on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Cooper if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Flori will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Cooper already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Cooper isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Flori early rather than rehoming privately; they know Cooper and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
