Cooper

Mixed Breed · Male · Young · 2 years

26-06-26 Meet Cooper, a lovely boy who has travelled all the way from Romania to begin his new life and search for his forever home. He is a sweet boy who is quite overwhelmed to find himself here, but is starting to settle in and adjust to his new surroundings. Understandably, he is feeling quite scared at the moment, especially when he first meets new people. With those he knows, he is starting to come out of his shell and its lovely to see his confidence growing. Despite his worries, he is easy to handle and in the right home we think he will truly thrive. Cooper absolutely adores other dogs and takes great comfort from having canine friends around him, so he will need another kind, confident and playful resident dog in his new home to be his companion and show him the ropes. He is also beginning to discover the joy of toys and is enjoying learning how to play, which is so sweet. As Cooper has never lived in a home before, his adopters will need to be patient, kind and understanding while he settles in and learns all about home life, including new skills like house training. He is very much a beginner when it comes to walking on a lead and harness, but he is already starting to enjoy his walks and would love an active home where he can continue exploring the world at his own pace. Cooper would love to find adopters who are experienced with dogs and, whilst not essential, experience with Romanian rescue dogs would be a bonus. He would be happiest in a calm, quiet, adult only home where he can settle in at his own pace and continue building his confidence. With patience, understanding and plenty of love, Cooper will start to discover just how wonderful his life can now be. In return, this gentle boy will reward his family with the privilege of watching him blossom into the happy and loved companion he was always meant to be. He has tested negative prior to arrival for heartworm, lyme disease, ehrlichia, anaplasma, giardia, leishmania and brucellosis. Cooper has a passport. This dog can be homed with a resident dog.

About Cooper

What life with Cooper looks like

Cooper is a young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Many Tears Animal Rescue in Llanelli.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Cooper, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Cooper?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Many Tears Animal Rescue handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Cooper on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Cooper if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Many Tears Animal Rescue will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Cooper already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Cooper isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Many Tears Animal Rescue early rather than rehoming privately; they know Cooper and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
