Copper

Unknown Β· 2 months

🐰🧑 Meet Copper β€” a very special girl looking for her forever home! 🧑🐰 Copper was originally thought to be a wild rabbit, but it soon became very clear that she was far too friendly to be wild! She may possibly be crossed with a Rex too, which could explain her gorgeous, soft coat. Copper can be a little shy when she first meets you, but once she gets to know you and feels comfortable, her lovely personality really comes out. She is an incredibly affectionate girl who adores company. She loves sitting on your lap, giving kisses and grooming you. She will happily lick your hands and it’s clear that she has so much love to give. She absolutely loves fresh grass and dandelions and is happiest when she has someone around to keep her company. ❀️ What Copper really needs now is a male or female rabbit companion to bond with. She is desperate for companionship and we feel she would thrive with a suitable bunny friend by her side. Could you be the home Copper has been waiting for? Please get in touch if you think you could offer this beautiful girl her happy ending. πŸ₯•πŸ’• Rabbits need a safe enclosure that is at least 3m x 2m at all times.

About Copper

What life with Copper looks like

Copper is a adult rabbit waiting at Thornberry Animal Sanctuary in United Kingdom.

Rabbits are social animals β€” most shelters recommend adopting them in bonded pairs rather than alone. They need fresh hay daily, several hours of out-of-cage time, and rabbit-safe spaces to explore. They live eight to twelve years, longer than many people expect.

πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Copper, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Copper?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Thornberry Animal Sanctuary handles screening and the adoption contract directly β€” TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Copper on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Copper if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad β€” Thornberry Animal Sanctuary will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Copper already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most rabbits on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported β€” ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Copper isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work β€” that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Thornberry Animal Sanctuary early rather than rehoming privately; they know Copper and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect β€” names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
