Cosmea Jack

Mixed Breed · Male · Young · 1 year

female & male Dwarf rabbits Age: unneutered / born 11/2024 Abgabetiere neutered [x] yes / [] no In the animal shelter since 21.08. & 16.10.2025 ________________________ Cosmea came unfortunately from a sibling. They are sensitive rabbits who like to use safe places and settle well and happily in a relaxed and unexcited environment. Rabbits, of course, should not be understood as "children's pets," let alone "snuggle pets." A quiet handling and an unexcited environment are particularly important for Cosmea and Jack, then they are also very curious and lively. As both have always had digestive issues in the past, attention should be paid to a healthy and appropriate diet and care. It would be very nice if they could find a shared place; they were socialized with us and have gotten along well. For the two, a nice, large enclosure with enrichment and retreat possibilities should be available, with a floor space of at least 6qm, as recommended by the Veterinary Association, and should be constantly usable. The larger and more additional running space is available, the better, of course. Currently, they live in indoor housing; from spring, they can also be gradually accustomed to outdoor housing with particularly good weather protection. Of course, attention should be paid to appropriate feeding (i.e., not pellets or dry food but fresh greens, good hay, herbs, etc.) and reliable care. We ask, as mentioned above, to keep in mind that, like most small pets, rabbits are well suited as "observation pets," but should not serve as a child's first own pet. ________________________ (As of 20.12.2025) (Click on the images to see them in full size!) weiblich & männlich Zwergkaninchen Alter unb./Geboren 11/2024 Abgabetiere Kastriert ja / [] nein Im Tierheim seit 21.08.

About Cosmea Jack

What life with Cosmea Jack looks like

Cosmea Jack is a large young adult mixed breed rabbit waiting at Tierheim Marburg in Marburg.

Rabbits are social animals — most shelters recommend adopting them in bonded pairs rather than alone. They need fresh hay daily, several hours of out-of-cage time, and rabbit-safe spaces to explore. They live eight to twelve years, longer than many people expect.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Cosmea Jack, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Cosmea Jack?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierheim Marburg handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Cosmea Jack on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Cosmea Jack if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierheim Marburg will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Cosmea Jack already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most rabbits on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Cosmea Jack isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierheim Marburg early rather than rehoming privately; they know Cosmea Jack and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
