Cosmo

Mixed Breed · Male · Adult · 5 years

Cosmo is a 4.5-year-old, 28 kg Husky mix who is currently waiting for his big chance at a foster home in Romania. Unfortunately, his past is unknown, but Cosmo looks forward with bright blue eyes. He is friendly, affectionate, and very people-oriented. He also gets along well with his fellow canines. His reaction to cats has not been tested yet. As a Nordic breed mix, Cosmo brings the typical heart and temperament of a Husky. He is an active, enduring, and intelligent companion who longs for people who share his passion for exercise. We are looking for outdoor enthusiasts who enjoy long walks, hikes, or sports activities and want to mentally challenge him. Husky-typically, you should be prepared for a certain hunting instinct and an independent stubbornness that needs to be accompanied by loving but consistent leadership. Since Cosmo has yet to experience life in a typical household, we are looking for patient people who can teach him the basics of dog behavior step by step. A well-secured home, ideally with a fenced garden, would be perfect for the handsome male. Cosmo is ready to go and can hardly wait to start his new life. Cosmo travels neutered, chipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and de-fleaed, together with his EU pet passport. After a positive preliminary inspection, he can be placed for a deposit. A foster home would also be a good start for the active Cosmo. A special thank you goes to Antonia, who gave this great male his beautiful name Cosmo and paved the way for him to his new life! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt diesen Hund anfragen! About Cosmo

What life with Cosmo looks like

Cosmo is a large adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Cosmo, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Cosmo?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Cosmo on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Cosmo if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Cosmo already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Cosmo isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Cosmo and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
