Adopt Cosy

Male · Adult · 4 years

Say hello to Cosy! Cosy is the perfect balance of sweet and independent! Cosy is an explorer at heart and loves to adventure around his domain, but once he's checked everything is in order and chased some insects, he'll be on his way home to curl up on your lap or in a warm spot nearby. If you don't hear his adorable mews as he's greeting you when arriving home (probably telling you about his day!), you can't miss his cute stubby tail passing by! Cosy has bitten and scratched his owners in the presence of other cats. We believe in these situations Cosy could smell another cat and he was showing redirected frustration towards his owner, as he was not castrated and in communal areas where another resident cat was nearby. Cosy has not shown any of these behaviours onsite, but can become worried when staff leave the pen and lightly mouth them. He is a lovely boy who enjoys spending time with you, and we don't believe he will show these behaviours in the home with the correct set-up. Cosy will need to be the only animal in the home, and he can live with teenagers who can give him the time and space that he needs. He will also need access to a private garden via a cat flap, with access all day and night so he can explore when he would like to. Battersea are available for guidance and advice if there are any concerns. If you have already completed our online rehoming form and would like to know more about Cosy, you can e-mail our rehoming team on () to register your interest. the cat you have contacted us about.

About Cosy

What life with Cosy looks like

Cosy is a medium-sized adult cat waiting at Battersea Dogs & Cats Home in London.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Cosy, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Cosy?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Battersea Dogs & Cats Home handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Cosy on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Cosy if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Battersea Dogs & Cats Home will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Cosy already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Cosy isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Battersea Dogs & Cats Home early rather than rehoming privately; they know Cosy and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
