Cosy

Mixed Breed · Male · Senior · 9 years

ProfileAge: Born around June 2023. Gender: male. Neutered: yesCharacter: very friendlySize: about 32 cmIn Shelter since: March 2026A friendly hello to all lovely people out there!Do you see me? I am down here and I am Cosy.Would you like to hear my story? Well then, let's go!I lived on the street for a long time and found my way every day myself. One of these ways led me again and again to a veterinary practice. I stayed nearby, observed the people - and hoped without exactly knowing what. Eventually I was seen. The people took care of me, looked after me and had me neutered.Quickly it became clear that I am a very friendly and open dog. I really like people, approach them curiously and enjoy every petting. With my about 38 centimeters I'm not big, but that's why I'm all the cozier - my soft fur simply invites to cuddling. It still needs a little care to become really nice again, but I promise you, I will really enjoy it.The people here say I am too people-oriented for life in the shelter. I wish for closeness, security and someone who takes care of me. A home where I can belong and feel at home.I am called Cosy - for now. Maybe you will not only give me a name, but also a life by your side? I am waiting here for my chance. Interested? If you are interested in Cosy, please fill out our application form () or send us an email at or a message via Facebook. Cosy is ready for adoption and can travel to Germany with the next transport. Our dogs travel legally with Traces. Traces refers to the database system used to monitor all animal traffic within the EU. The dogs travel neutered (if old enough), vaccinated, microchipped and dewormed and have an EU passport. Furthermore, a rapid test for the following Mediterranean diseases is carried out for dogs over 12 months before travel arrangements: Borreliosis, Anaplasmosis, Ehrlichiosis, Dirofilariasis and leishmaniasis. The family W. has taken over the sponsorship for Cosy and thus ensures a full bowl. Many thanks on behalf of the dogs!

SteckbriefAlter: ca. Juni 2023 geboren. Geschlecht: männlich. Kastriert: jaCharakter: sehr freundlichGröße: ca. 32 cmIm Shelter seit: März 2026Ein freundliches Hallo an alle lieben Menschen da draußen!

About Cosy

What life with Cosy looks like

Cosy is a small senior mixed breed dog waiting at Seelen für Seelchen e.V. in Alfter.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Cosy, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Cosy?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Seelen für Seelchen e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Cosy on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Cosy if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Seelen für Seelchen e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Cosy already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Cosy isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Seelen für Seelchen e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Cosy and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
