Crane

Male

Crane came into the centre after being removed from his previous home due to welfare concerns. Crane has come from a home where he has had little to no socialising with people so is very slowly and in his own time learning to trust people. Since being in the cattery, Crane is starting to show signs of wanting attention from us which is lovely to see. Our relationship with Crane is being built by leaving him be and letting him choose where his boundaries are. Crane is looking for a patient and understanding home who will leave him be until he is ready to have physical interactions by people. Unfortunately, one of the cats from the property Crane is from has tested positive for coronavirus so it is highly likely to be in his system too. This means from time to time he does suffer from loose stools so we currently have him on a sensitivity food which will help support him. This doesn’t stop him living like a normal cat when it comes to being inside and outside but does mean he needs to be the only cat. Do you have the time and patience this guy need to continue his journey to become comfortable living next to humans?

About Crane

What life with Crane looks like

Crane is a medium-sized adult cat waiting at RSPCA Suffolk Central Branch in United Kingdom.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction β€” every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Crane, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Crane?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. RSPCA Suffolk Central Branch handles screening and the adoption contract directly β€” TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Crane on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Crane if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad β€” RSPCA Suffolk Central Branch will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Crane already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported β€” ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Crane isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work β€” that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with RSPCA Suffolk Central Branch early rather than rehoming privately; they know Crane and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect β€” names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
