Cress is a very frightened little lady who came to us from a breeder and had never experienced life in a home before arriving in rescue. She is currently in a foster home and while she is still a scared girl, she is slowly beginning to learn what home life is all about. She takes great comfort from other dogs and relies heavily on them for reassurance, spending most of her time close to her canine companions. Watching their interactions with people is helping her build confidence, and she will happily relax on the sofa for gentle cuddles and ear and chest tickles as long as another dog is nearby. Although she will still run away if approached directly, she is gradually learning that human hands can be kind. Cress is not yet house trained, as she is currently very worried about going outside. When carried outside, she is initially frightened but does settle after a short time and has even started showing curiosity about birds and her surroundings. She will need lots of time and patience to continue to get used to venturing outside in her foster home. She doesn't walk on a lead just yet and it will be quite a while before she is ready to start learning about this. She will be looking for a very special, calm and quiet, adult-only home with kind, patient adopters who understand that everything must be taken slowly and at her pace. She would be best suited to adopters who have experience of scared ex-breeding dogs. When she feels overwhelmed or frightened, she can panic and may choose to make the wrong decision, so her new family will need to give her the time, space, and gentle guidance she needs to feel safe. A kind and confident resident dog is essential to help her continue building confidence, and she may be able to live with a dog-savvy cat, as she is currently in foster with one and has been fine. Cress is a beautifully gentle, sensitive little soul who simply needs a quiet, loving home where she can feel secure. With patience, understanding, and steady support, she will continue to grow in confidence and blossom into a loyal and affectionate companion. This dog can be homed with a resident dog.
