CRUMBLE

Mixed Breed · Unknown · Young · 3 years

Please read our Homing Criteria BEFORE applying for any of our dogs.BREED: Basset HoundSEX: Female (Neutered)AGE: Aprox. 3 YearsSIZE: Medium/Large (20 Kg)Crumble is a very sweet, lovely girl!! She has come from a rural home where she was one of a number of dogs who had a rather idyllic lifestyle wandering around the fields at their home, but the downside of this is that she has seen very little of the outside world, and until she came into rescue, has likely never even seen a lead! So although she is learning fast, she is going to need a kind, empathic and experienced owner to teach her all about life in the more "normal" world. She is a friendly and easy-going dog who's tail never stops wagging, so, Basset lover warning - she ma steal your heart!Crumble has been used to a lot of canine company and is very tolerant of other dogs at the rescue, and even enjoys playing with the other dogs, just a patient and sweet girl. Although she is unlikely to have lived in a normal domestic environment, she is certainly used to being around people, and was apparently used to children in her past home, so we would be happy to home her with children over 10 years. We have no idea if she has met cats or small pets.Crumble is an active dog who enjoys her walks, and loves to be chatted to and praised, and because she has been used to living with canine companions, she will need company most of the time, and a loving owner who will help her learn all the skills she will need for her new life. She will expect lots of cuddles too!! And plenty of treats !!!When a dog moves into a new home, they need time and consideration to help them feel confident and settled. They are having to adjust to a totally different environment, with new people and new challenges, and when one adopts a rescue dog, one must be ready to help them through not just the first few days, but for as long as it takes for them to feel comfortable in their new life. They are relying on their new owners to teach them the house rules and all about the new world they are living in. They are likely to need and benefit from dog training classes, and may also need behavioural help and the adopter may need to seek professional advice. If you are considering adopting, please be very sure that you are committed to the needs of your new friend, as they will be relying on you and their life and happiness is literally in your hands. This will last for their lifetime, so please also take an honest look at your age and activity levels and ensure that you are likely to be able to meet their ongoing needs. Please fill in our Application Form if you are interested in adopting this dog(If the animal’s name does not appear in the drop down box on the form - it means the animal is already reserved)

About CRUMBLE

What life with CRUMBLE looks like

CRUMBLE is a large young adult mixed breed dog waiting at DBARC Animal Rescue Centre in United Kingdom.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting CRUMBLE, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about CRUMBLE?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. DBARC Animal Rescue Centre handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw CRUMBLE on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt CRUMBLE if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — DBARC Animal Rescue Centre will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is CRUMBLE already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if CRUMBLE isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with DBARC Animal Rescue Centre early rather than rehoming privately; they know CRUMBLE and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
