Cuba

Female · Kitten · 6 months

Cuba is a young kitten who arrived at the Shelter together with her siblings. She’s currently staying at the cat hospital, where she’s receiving attentive care from veterinarians and undergoing a full diagnostic workup. The new environment presents quite a challenge for her. Cuba is visibly frightened, cautious, and for now approaches the world around her with some distance. She’ll need time to get comfortable in her new surroundings and feel safe. She doesn’t like being rushed—she’ll thrive best with a person who respects her boundaries and allows her to open up at her own pace. Cuba is a gentle and sensitive kitten who needs peace and stability above all else right now. We believe that in a quiet, loving home, she’ll gradually regain her confidence and, day by day, grow more and more comfortable building a bond with her caregiver. We’re looking for a forever home for Cuba—one that will offer her patience, care, and a sense of security. We invite you to fill out the pre-adoption questionnaire and come to the Shelter with it already completed. Please note: If you’re considering adopting a cat or are thinking about it, be sure to bring a carrier or transport bag for cats to the Shelter. Before adopting, make sure your home or apartment is safe and properly prepared to welcome a new family member. Remember to secure windows and balconies.

Wierzymy, że w cichym, kochającym domu stopniowo odzyska pewność siebie i z każdym dniem będzie coraz śmielej budowała relację z opiekunem. Szukamy dla Cuby kochającego domu na zawsze. Takiego, w którym otrzyma cierpliwość, troskę i poczucie bezpieczeństwa. Pamiętaj, żeby zabezpieczyć okna i balkon.

About Cuba

What life with Cuba looks like

Cuba is a small puppy/kitten cat waiting at Schronisko Na Paluchu in Warsaw.

Kittens are tiny chaos engines for about six months and then mellow rapidly. They need two scheduled feedings, a litter box per cat plus one extra, and somewhere high to climb. Spay/neuter happens around six months — most shelters arrange this before adoption.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Cuba, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Cuba?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Schronisko Na Paluchu handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Cuba on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Cuba if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Schronisko Na Paluchu will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Cuba already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Cuba isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Schronisko Na Paluchu early rather than rehoming privately; they know Cuba and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
