It sounds soft, doesn't it? Like a name for someone who smells of cake and a cozy afternoon under a blanket. Yet—Czesia came from a place where instead of grass there was scrap, and instead of children's laughter—was the creaking of old hinges. Kicin. March. Thirty dogs. One world, full of rust and silence. In all of that—she. Different. With patches, as if someone had accidentally painted her with a different brush than the rest. And with eyes that don't beg, don't protest. Only looking, as if they wanted to ask: "Is this really all? Was that the plan?" Czesia doesn't run away. She doesn't approach. She stands off to the side, as if checking whether you had a good day or if you would let her down again. There's no aggression in her. There's a pause. But something in her says: "I want. But I'm afraid. Give me time." Because Czesia could love. In her own way. Quietly, slowly. Maybe first in the other room. Then closer. Brzmi miękko, prawda? Jak imię dla kogoś, kto pachnie biszkoptem i popołudniem pod kocem. A jednak — Czesia przyszła z miejsca, gdzie zamiast trawy był złom, a zamiast dziecięcego śmiechu — skrzypienie starych zawiasów. Kicin. Marzec. Trzydzieści psów. Jeden świat, pełen rdzy i milczenia. W tym wszystkim — ona. Inna.Z łatkami, jakby ktoś ją przypadkiem pomalował innym pędzlem niż resztę. I z oczami, które nie błagają, nie protestują. Tylko patrzą, jakby chciały zapytać: „Naprawdę to już wszystko? Taki był plan?” Czesia nie ucieka. Nie podchodzi. Stoi z boku, jakby sprawdzała, czy człowiek dziś ma dobry dzień, czy znowu zawiedzie. Nie ma w niej agresji. Jest zawieszenie. Ale coś w niej mówi: „Ja chcę. Tylko się boję. Daj mi czas.” Bo Czesia mogłaby kochać. Na swój sposób. Cicho, powoli. Może najpierw położy się w drugim pokoju. Potem bliżej. A potem — może — oprze głowę na twoim kolanie i westchnie tak, że rozpadnie ci się serce. Tylko potrzebuje spokoju. I drugiego psa. Przewodnika. Kogoś, kto już wie, że człowiek nie zawsze znaczy krzywdę. Nie pytaj „czy się opłaca”. Ona nie jest inwestycją.Jest duszą. Taką, co przeżyła dużo, choć nikt jej nie pytał, czy chciała.
