Dafne arrived at the shelter just a few months old, together with her little siblings. The first thing one thinks when puppies arrive is that they’ll surely be adopted quickly—and that was indeed the case for some of her siblings. But for Dafne, two years have now passed: while she continues to go unnoticed and unchosen, she’s slowly moving into the category of adult dogs destined to spend their entire lives in the shelter. Sometimes fearful and a bit wary, she’s also incredibly sweet—if only given the right amount of time and patience. In her eyes, you can glimpse a hint of sadness—or perhaps the sadness is simply ours, as we reflect on the fact that until now, her life has been nothing but waiting. Dafne è arrivata al rifugio che aveva pochissimi mesi, insieme ai suoi fratellini. La prima cosa a cui si pensa quando arrivano dei cuccioli è che sicuramente verranno adottati in fretta, e così è stato per alcuni dei suoi fratelli. Per Dafne, invece, sono ormai passati due anni: mentre continua a non essere mai scelta, sta lentamente entrando nella categoria dei cani adulti destinati a trascorrere la vita in canile. A volte timorosa e un po' diffidente, ma anche molto dolce se le si concede il giusto tempo. Nei suoi occhi si legge un po' di tristezza, o forse la tristezza è semplicemente la nostra, pensando che fino a oggi la sua vita è stata soltanto un'attesa.
