Daggi

Mixed Breed · Male

Daggi was found on the street near Bitúnky in Košice. Daggi is a large, handsome dog. At first glance, his appearance may inspire respect, but his nature is friendly and gentle. Daggi is an active and strong dog. His heart yearns for attention, activities, and the joy of movement. When you call to him, he tilts his head slightly as if he’s really listening. On the leash, he pulls with full force – and he’s more than willing to share it! Daggi loves toys, balls, and sticks, but he’s happiest playing with people. He can’t sit still for long and is always either playing or washing. His active nature makes him an ideal buddy for nature hikes, swimming in streams, or playing with the family. He’s suitable for active and responsible people who will make him a part of their family, not a trendy addition. Daggi has been given a chance at a new life, and we’ll do everything to ensure he has a good one. He gets along with female dogs, but there must be mutual affection. Male dogs – he chooses. He has good hygiene habits on regular walks, and handling him is problem-free. For Daggi, we’re looking for a responsible owner with a heart in the right place and a thoughtful approach. Daggi needs a home in a flat or a house with indoor access. He’s not suitable for year-round outdoor stays. YOUR EXPERIENCE WITH DAGGI: 1. "Today we took Daggi on a hike to Kojšová hora. At first, he fidgeted in the car, but then he sat nicely. At the beginning, he pulled quite a bit, but later less. He’s just not used to it yet, everything interests him. Dogs and female dogs didn’t bother him, and he even playfully wrestled with one young dog. He barked at others but didn’t bark aggressively, walking nicely. With our female dog, he still played and still kissed her. We thought he would get tired quickly, but he outlasted us by three. We went down the hill in a 4×4, and I took advantage of it, sitting on the ground, and he, all excited, pulled. I thought he wouldn’t tire until the last moment, but in the car, he fell asleep. I recommend him to active people who will devote themselves to him and be able to channel his energy. He would definitely be great for some sport or hiking."

SK·Show original

About Daggi

What life with Daggi looks like

Daggi is a adult mixed breed dog waiting at ÚVP Košice in Slovakia.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇸🇰Adopting from Slovakia

Slovak rescue groups coordinate cross-border transport with European partners. Animals are chipped and vaccinated; sterilization is often included for adults and arranged post-adoption for puppies/kittens.

Frequently asked

Adopting Daggi, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Daggi?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. ÚVP Košice handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Daggi on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Daggi if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — ÚVP Košice will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Daggi already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Daggi isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with ÚVP Košice early rather than rehoming privately; they know Daggi and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (SK). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
